This gallery contains photos that I have taken over the last forty plus years in visiting national parks, national forrests and wilderness areas throughout the United States. To keep this gallery at a reasonable size, I do not include my photos from Great Falls National Park which I frequently visit for photos of the falls or my Autumn images from Shenendoah National Park or my trips to the White Mountains of New Hampshire and other spots.

I have a new, separate gallery for the photos from my Yellowstone Winter 2019 trip. I was lucky to spend four days and three nights in the park, and then I went back in on New Years Day when I was lucky enough to get pictures of wolves, moose and more in the Lamar Valley.

I have separate galleries for each of the stops I made during my fall 2018 trip through Mesa Verde, Arches, Yellowstone (both 2018 and 1979) and Grand Teton (also both 2018 and 1979) national parks.

I have also applied some artistic Photoshop treatments to several of my wilderness images. You can find those in the Manipulated Images gallery.

Navigation Tips

Here are some suggestions that I hope will improve your experience while looking at the galleries here at CathySummers.com.

• To see just the photos that I consider my better shots in a given gallery, use the filter form at the top of each gallery page and select a higher number in the "Stars / Rating" option.
• If you're using a desktop or laptop computer with a larger screen, click on the "+" sign at the top right corner of the thumbnail grid to expand the grid to the full width of the browser window.
• Select a smaller number in the images per row buttons at the bottom of the thumbnails to reduce the number of images per row, which allows each image to expand.
• If you have a fast internet connection, enter a large number in the images per page if you want to see all of the photos in the gallery without having to move back in forth between pages.
• In most of my fine art galleries, you can enter the keyword "horizontal" to see just photos in the landscape/horizontal orientation, or "vertical" or "square" to see images in those orientations.
• Click the small "X" in the top right corner to close this list, and the tips should be hidden throughout your browsing session.
